A Magical Musical First Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated the first birthday of our beautiful baby girl. Months ago, when I thought about what the theme should be for Miss M's first birthday, it was pretty easy. A pink and gold music party! M has had a tough year being in and out of the hospital, but the things that always put a smile on her face is music, singing and dancing. This party had plenty of sparkly details to celebrate a very special birthday girl!

The Birthday Girl!

My idea for the cake was to have several cakes on floating pedestals, spiraling upward. From bottom to top, the cakes were displayed tallest to shortest, and decorated dark to light. All five cakes were different flavors, were decorated with shimmering gold sugar music notes and pink mini french macaroons. The top layer had a custom cake topper in gold script lettering, "McKenna is One".

The cake flavors included cinnamon apple cake with spiced vanilla mousse filling, devil's food chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, carrot cake with cream cheese filling, pound cake with strawberries and cream filling, and lemon chiffon cake with white chocolate frosting.

The cupcakes were funfetti butter cake with cream cheese frosting, topped with mini french macaroons. They were wrapped in the most adorable music note cutout wrappers.

Banana cream pie shots with gold star toppers. Delicious! And I found these cute pink chevron wooden mini spoons at a last minute shopping trip.

We had three different favors. Pink music note sugar cookies, music note trinket boxes, and toy microphones.

Guests wrote special notes for McKenna on these perfect gold sparkly music printables.

This party was perfect and so much fun. Can't believe my baby girl is one!
