An "I DO" BBQ themed party!
This couple was looking for a relaxing, fun backyard event for their wedding shower. I think the theme represented the couple's style and provided fun times for the almost 50 guests in attendance.
The bride-to-be had a request for Smores around the fire pit. So we had individual Smores baskets for the guests. They chose between traditional chocolate or chocolate-peanut butter. Or in the case of our younger, sugar-happy attendees... both!
There wasn't much in the way of traditional bridal shower games, but we did have themed prizes which we handed out during the gift opening for winners of the "timer game".
What's a party these days without a watermelon turned into a party accessory? So fun to watch people digging through the "grill grates" for the "charcoal" :)
We tied in the purple colors in the flower arrangements which is the color of their June wedding. A great pop color in a sea of red gingham.
The Pie Bar dessert table was a huge success. We had six different pies to choose from plus the double layer chocolate/vanilla cake.
The cake! I say this for every cake I make, but it's so much fun to create cakes that look this fun.
The favors were mason jars with homemade cookie mix. The favor tags have instructions on the back on what to add and how to bake. Just add vanilla, egg and butter, and you have easy homemade Monster Cookies!
Congratulations and best wishes to the soon-to-be newlyweds!
**The invitations, table tent cards and favor tags are now available for purchase through Morsels Parties Etsy Shop.
I love the watermelon. It's so cute! Thank you for linking up to Party Time and we hope to see you again next week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shower theme! I adore the ketchup and mustard cake toppers and love how you used the berry baskets for the s'mores ingredients.
