Come party with the Monsters from Monsters, Inc.!

Your Invited... to a Monsters Inc birthday party! No amount of cold New England weather was going to stop this party. Although we were pretty nervous it would. Such a fun party theme to work with. Birthday boy "C" had about 50 friends and family come to celebrate his 2nd birthday with him. The party was held early on a Sunday morning, so C's mama had the perfect idea to have a yogurt bar for the kids. The Sulley cake, Mike cupcakes and colorful chocolate covered pretzels were a hit! Party favors included Monsters Inc books and specially created bookmarks in memory of a family member. We had plans on doing a "create your own monster" activity with the kids, but they were so busy playing games, we ran out of time!

I thought it would be cute to develop invitations that featured the characters and one of the main elements of the movie, Boo's door. The door on the invitation swings out to reveal Boo and the party details.

I designed the cake topper to replicate the swinging doors from the Scream Floor and in the middle is Boo's Door.

Wooden letters spelled out the birthday boy's name, painted in "Sulley" style!

This party was a combination of both of the Monsters, Inc. movies, so the cupcakes were topped with mini Monsters University flags.

Mike Wazowski cupcakes were sent home with guests in white sushi takeout boxes to represent the restaurant that Mike and Celia visited in the first movie, Harryhausen's.

All edibles and printables were designed, created and baked by Morsels. Printables for this Monsters Inc. themed party are now available in my Etsy shop.
