And on that farm, he had a cow... E-I-E-I-O! We are celebrating Lucy's 2nd birthday on the farm with all of our animal friends. Instead of a traditional dessert table full of small desserts, we decided to include the whole farm in one big cake.
Our goal was to make a cake that had all of the birthday girl's favorite animal friends, but keep it mostly, if not completely, edible. That is just what we did! The base of the cake is a full sheet cake. We made a barn and silo out of rice krispie treats and covered them in fondant. We used the extra rice krispie treats leftover to make mini bales of hay to place next to the barn and in the cow pasture.
All of the animals are cake pops. Our little guests loved getting a piece of cake and the option to choose which animal they wanted to go with it.
How cute is our farm themed photo booth? Hard to believe we made this whole setup for under $45 with a few easy to find materials. For the backdrop, we found these great barn doors and cow print balloons on Amazon. A family member brought a couple bales of hay to use for the seats. We used these free printable animal masks that we found on Life Over C's. Just attach them to wooden paint sticks and it makes a great party activity for kids and adults. The final touch to our farm photo booth was Lucy's name in lights. We are in love with Michael's line of Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Letters. It's a great way to personalize your party setup.
From the horses peeking out of the barn to the pigs playing in the mud, these little guys were the star of the party.
We think party favors should be cute and themed, but useful as well. We re-purposed our thank you tags from our "I Do" BBQ party printable set, to create these thank you tags for our seed starter kid party favors. Lucy and her friends were so excited to be a party of growing their own flowers and vegetables.

Easter Cookie Decorating Party
Easter used to be a one day event when I was growing up. It was a special breakfast, Easter baskets and an indoor egg hunt with my parents and siblings. In the afternoon, we would go to my grandparents and have an outdoor egg hunt with our cousins. An over the top, delicious Easter dinner was always followed by yummy desserts.
My husband and I have taken on hosting Easter each year and we have started some of our own traditions. Where we live, there are Easter egg hunts and community events to participate in for the two weeks surrounding Easter Sunday. This year, we had a few of the girls' friends over for a cookie decorating party.
All of our party supplies are from Hoopla Events. Their pink striped plates, plastic square milk bottles, candy favor tubes, paper straws and striped candy cups were all perfect to set our table with. Check out Hoopla Events for your party supply needs!
Each of the kids had their own decorating tools and a plate full of undecorated sugar cookies to play with. The table centerpiece included several desserts; donuts, sugar cookies, cupcakes and easter egg french macarons.
Our easter egg painted mason jars from Always the Occasion filled with white flowers gave our table the perfect spring feel.
